Welcome to Hedley Wright Photography. I’m an amateur photographer based in East Anglia, working across the UK and driven by a genuine passion for visual storytelling. My work focuses on capturing real moments, natural beauty and atmosphere — whether that’s the quiet drama of British wildlife, the energy of street photography, or the vast skies above our countryside.
I shoot using both digital and film, choosing the medium that best suits the subject and my inclination. Every image is approached with care, patience and respect for the scene in front of me.
Wildlife Photography
From birds and mammals to fleeting moments in nature, my wildlife photography is centred on the British landscape.
I photograph responsibly and ethically, prioritising the welfare of animals while capturing authentic behaviour in their natural habitats.
Street Photography
My UK street photography focuses on everyday life - candid moments, light, movement and character found in towns and cities.
These images aim to document real stories as they unfold, without interruption or staging.
Landscapes
Inspired by the countryside and coastlines of East Anglia and beyond, my landscape photography reflects the changing seasons, weather and light across the UK.
From wide open skies to intimate rural scenes, I aim to create images that feel calm, grounded and timeless.
Sports Photography
I photograph sports with an emphasis on action, emotion and atmosphere.
Whether it’s grassroots sport or local events, my sports photography captures decisive moments and the energy of competition.
Astrophotography
Working under dark skies whenever possible, my astrophotography explores the night sky above Britain - from distant galaxies to the nebulae within our own Milky Way.
This genre combines technical precision with patience and planning.
Digital & Film
I work with modern digital cameras for flexibility and speed, while also shooting 35mm and medium format film for its unique character and slower, more deliberate process.
Film photography allows me to create images with depth, texture and a timeless quality that cannot be replicated digitally.
Based in East Anglia, travelling the UK
While I’m based in East Anglia, I photograph across the UK and often travel for projects, personal work and events. My local knowledge of the region’s landscapes, coastlines and wildlife strongly influences my work, but I’m always keen to explore new locations.
About my approach
As an amateur photographer, I value both authenticity and creativity. I focus on strong composition, natural light and honest moments. Photography for me is about observation, patience and continuous learning — always refining my skills and vision.
